Congratulations to former Bankstown Bulls Junior Jordan Mailata who has signed a new four-year contract with NFL side Philadelphia Eagles.
The Mailata family has had a long history at the Bulls with Jordan being part of the 2011 Under 14 Premiership victory coached by Richard Kairouz which he rated on his Eagles Official Website profile page as his favourite sporting moment. Jordan’s older brother Daniel won the 2011 Senior Player of the Year Award and played in the 2010-2011 premiership winning teams under the coaching of Danny Safetly. His younger brother Millo won the 2014 Tom Tasker Encouragement Award.
Jordan was a member of the Bulls Super 15’s side in 2012 and his final season as a player with the club was in 2014. He was selected in the 2015 Bulldogs SG Ball squad however a health scare during pre-season training ruled him out of competitive sport for the year. He remained at Bulls in 2015 as trainer for the Under 12/1 team.
Jordan returned to the football field after being given a clean bill of health where he played for another club in another district. He was signed up by South Sydney Rabbitoh’s to play Under 20’s in 2017 before receiving his once in a lifetime opportunity to trial with Philadelphia.
